I can confirm that it is exactly that and is very comfortable to use and easy to clean.
Only negative is how easily it rusts. Even a single drop of moisture left overnight after washing, caused rust spots to develop. Easily removed with Barkeeper's Friend (it's only surface rust) but a hassle to have to baby it.
On a positive note, this may indicate that the type of steel used may be harder and will remain sharp for much longer due to higher carbon content (which reduces rust resistance).
For the price, it's really great value and well worth it

A more detailed discussion on the differences…
• BLADES/HINGE - Blades on all three scissors are sharp; however, when cutting through paper, the Kai took slightly less effort than the other two. The Kai blades are marginally thicker along the spine (see pic), and the all-metal hinge on the Kai is the only one of the three that allows you to adjust the tension using a wrench (out of the box, I found the hinge to be a bit tighter than I prefer). All of the scissors come apart for cleaning. An attached picture shows the scissors open to their maximum, i.e., if they are opened any further than as shown, they will come apart. In addition, due to the hinge location relative to the handles, each of the scissors has a different blade opening width for the same handle spread (see pic). One aspect of the Kai scissors that may be a drawback depending on your use is the sheep’s foot upper blade tip. If you are doing any precision cutting or trying to get into a tight space, the wider blunt tip won’t work as well.
• HANDLES – The Oxo and Kai scissors have rubberized non-slip grip on the handles, which I find useful on other kitchen gadgets (e.g., my Oxo whisk), but for scissors, I prefer the hard plastic handle of the Henkels (and my old Chicago Cutlery pair). All of the handles had drawbacks… The Oxos have a cushion on the handle which increases the width and thickness (you can see the thickness of the handle in the spine pic mentioned above), and it makes the handles overly bulky and a bit cumbersome, IMO. The Henckels had the smallest handle opening. I have large hands and could comfortably fit four fingers in the Oxo and Kai, but only three fingers in the Henckels. In addition, if you prefer to keep the index finger outside of the handle, it will rest on bare metal when using the Henckels, while the Oxo and Kai have a comfortable rubberized rest area for the index finger… As mentioned, the handle opening on the Kai scissors is sufficiently long for four fingers; however, it has the narrowest opening of all three scissors, and I actually found that my thumb was getting stuck. The outer loops of the Kai handles do not have metal cores, i.e., they are pliable. I therefore used a ¾-inch socket (1” outside diameter) from my workshop to slightly stretch out the handles. And to permanently fix the stretched handle in place, I wedged the socket in the opening and placed the handle and socket in a 200F oven for 15 minutes. After letting it cool back down to room temp, I removed the socket and the handles were permanently widened (pics attached).
After the Kai, my second choice would have been the Henckels. It is the smallest and lightest of the three, and very easy to manipulate; however, contrary to its name, it is the least “heavy duty” option of the bunch. Regarding the Oxo, I own a bunch of their stuff, which is all high quality. I’m just really not a fan of the bulky handles on this pair of scissors. On the other hand (no pun intended), if your hands are arthritic, the Oxos might be exactly what you need.
